Every Show

Al Thawra’s set that night was an explosive end to a long tour full on with Marwan getting hoisted up as he sang and a roll on the ground where all the guys jumped in on.

Ari found me after the last song, eyes bright with giddy excitement. “Taz, you were right!”

I looked at her quizzically.

“This show was totally epic, in it’s own way! It was amazing!” she continued. I smiled back in recognition as I figured out what she meant.

“I told you so!” I said.

After the Epic performance at the Star Bar the night before, I had talked to Ari. She had a wistful look on her face. She had mentioned that she was sad that the first taqwacore show she attended was so epic because it could only go downhill from there. I told her that may be so with other bands, but not with Taqwacore bands, at least from all the shows I had attended. Each show would be epic in it’s own way.

I’m glad my prophecy didn’t disappoint.
